Langley Cruise-In Weekend,
on Film.
Since 1997, downtown Aldergrove’s Fraser Highway—between 264 and 272 Streets—has hosted the Langley Good Times Cruise-In, drawing car lovers together for one of the year’s best celebrations of car culture and community.
This year’s Cruise-In, held on September 7, 2024, was packed with classic cars and custom rides. Car enthusiasts and locals lined the streets, soaking in the sights and sounds of roaring engines, live music, and good company. It’s also the one time each year that In-N-Out crosses the Canadian-US border, with their famous pop-up truck serving up burgers for everyone to enjoy.
The night before the main event, on Friday, September 6, the town was already buzzing as car clubs took to the streets. Vintage cars cruised around, and I was in car heaven, riding along with my best friend Kyle in his ’70 Chevy as we joined his club, Lo’s Boulevardos, for a night cruise through town.
This year, though, the cops were out in full force, cracking down on anything that looked like fun—no burnouts, no gathering at the usual spots. It felt like we were kids again, getting in trouble for almost nothing. I missed the smell of burning rubber on the pavement, but even with the restrictions, the night was topped off perfectly with ice cream—a sweet ending to an evening of classic cars and cruising.
